Consider… We will gather, on the holiest of nights.
On the night when the story tells us Mary readied herself to give birth to Jesus,
we are to prepare ourselves to welcome new birth into our own lives.
We are invited to prepare our hearts to receive the wonder of God’s love.
As heaven and Earth sing of great joy this day,
let us sing our joyful praises to God!
Pray God of hope,
thank you for sending Jesus.
God of peace,
thank you for sending Jesus.
God of joy,
thank you for sending Jesus.
God of love,
thank you for sending Jesus.
This Christmas,
help us to live in a way
that shows your goodness to all we meet.

Consider… We all know the story of Jesus’ birth. We’ve got Mary & Joseph, angels and shepherds, Magi and baby Jesus. But there are so many folk tales surrounding the story that perhaps we don’t know. On this Sunday after Christmas, let’s gather to explore these stories as we sing both familiar and less familiar carols!
Pray God,
help us to be like the angels
and sing of your glory and grace.
Help us to be like shepherds,
eager to share the good news.
Help us to offer peace and goodwill
to all we meet this day and always.
Amen.
