Consider…
We all know the story of Jesus’ birth …
well, we know a mashed up version of the story from Matthew and Luke.
Matthew has Magi, Luke has shepherds.
Matthew has an angel visiting Joseph, Luke has an angel visiting Mary.
But did you know that Mark has neither of these?
And did you know that John talks about John the Baptist
but not anything about a baby born in a manger?
What pieces of this story are important to your faith?
Sunday, as we watch the story unfold as told by our children,
I invite us all to relish in the beauty of a story that shapes our faith,
the story of Jesus born in a most humble of beginnings
and whose life unfolds to change our world!
Pray
God of all time and space,
we rejoice in your abundant love.
Open our hearts to celebrate your gift of Jesus.
Bless us with patience and vision,
faithfulness and courage,
as we follow the Christ.
