Jesus was a rebel in his day.
Jesus takes traditional Jewish teachings and adds to it.
Love God.
Love your neighbor.
Love yourself.
It sounds simple.
But it’s not.
It’s counter-cultural to focus on love
over greed, over self interest.
Jesus was a rebel and calls us to be rebels too.

Guiding God,
we thank you that you call us to listen,
to learn,
to grow
and to explore.
Help us to open our hearts and minds
to understand our identity
as followers of Jesus the rebel.
