On Sunday, August 20, 2017 Social Concerns Committee will host the International Rescue Committee, with a catered luncheon at 11:45 in Koehler Hall following worship service.  You will have the opportunity to meet Laurel Dalsted, Development Manager from the International Rescue Committee San Diego.
Our topic: “Refugees, Who Are They?, Why Should We Care?, How Can We Help?”

Each year the IRC in San Diego welcomes 1,000 refugees to our community from all over the world including; Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, and several other countries.  You will be able to learn about the import travel ban on refugee families and how it’s effects are immediate and devastating.  Plan to enjoy a delicious lunch and learn the details of what it means to be a part of refugee resettlement.
