Imagine the People of God: Transformation
In “Harold and the Purple Crayon”, the little boy uses his imagination and draws all sorts of things in his world. As adults, we sometimes get stuck in imagination when we try to draw God’s realm. Today’s reading in Romans gives us some guidance. Love should be shown without pretending. Hate evil. Hold on to what is good. Imagine a world transformed like that. Be happy in hope. Devote yourself to prayer. Contribute to the needs of God’s people. Invite strangers. Don’t think you are better than anyone else. Don’t pay back evil actions with evil actions. If possible, live at peace with all peoples. Imagine. We have to grab our purple crayons and start drawing. We pray for God’s help to transform our lives. Come spirit of God and help us be changed and help us to change the world, one step at a time.
